Custom Questions

In this section, you can create questions not covered by the questionnaire provided by your tax software and present them to the client to answer.

Overview

  1. Click on Settings in the navigation panel.
  2. Click on Custom Questions.
  3. The following features are available in the Custom Questions section:
    • Add Section
    • Add Question
    • Preview
    • Save
  4. If a section needs to be removed or edited, Users can Click on the Edit or Delete icons.
  5. If a question needs to be removed or edited within a section, Users can Click on the Edit or Delete icons.

Adding Section(s)

Adding a section to the Custom Question will help organize the questions for you and your Clients.

NOTE: The order of the Sections will appear in the order you added them.

  1. Click on Add Section
  2. Enter the Section Name
  3. Click Add
  4. To edit or delete a section, locate the section and Click on the Edit or Delete icons

Adding Questions

Adding questions to the Custom Question will help to obtain answers to questions not on the tax software organizer or you can create a complete customized questionnaire for your Clients.

Users can choose the following Question Types for a more detailed and unique questionnaire:

  • Yes/No Questions
  • Short Answer Questions
  • Dynamic Questions

Once you have the Custom Questions section open the following instructions will help Users get set up.

Adding Yes/No Questions

  1. Click Add Question
  2. Select the Question Section 
    • If no Question Section is select the new question will be placed at the top of the Custom Questions list.
  3. Select Yes/No for Question Type
  4. Choose if the question is Required
  5. Enter the question in the text box
  6. Click Add.

Adding Short Answer Questions

  1. Click Add Question
  2. Select the Question Section 
    • If no Question Section is select the new question will be placed at the top of the Custom Questions list.
  3. Select Short Answer for Question Type
  4. Choose if the question is Required
  5. Enter the question in the text box
  6. Click Add.

Adding Dynamic Questions

  1. Click Add Question
  2. Select the Question Section 
    • If no Question Section is select the new question will be placed at the top of the Custom Questions list.
  3. Select Yes/No for Question Type
  4. Select Yes for Dynamic Question
  5. Choose if the question is Required
  6. Enter the first question in the text box
  7. Choose the answer to the first question and question type
  8. Enter the second question in the text box
  9. Click Add Question if more questions are needed
  10. Click Add when question is complete

Preview

Users can see a preview of what the Custom Question will look like for Taxpayers by Clicking on the Preview button

The Custom Question preview window will open and users will be able to view the questions. Users can navigate by:

  • Bookmarks on the left hand side
  • Arrows to move the pages forward
  • Entering the specific page number

Once reviewed in the Preview window, Users can close the Preview and edit the Custom Questions or Click Save and begin processing organizers.
